Take Flight

Take Flight is a 1 – 5 day job shadowing program that was created by the UNT Career Center 6 years ago. The program provides students with the opportunity to visit companies and organizations to explore careers, network with professionals, and to learn about career options related to their major. The following opportunities are posted in Eagle Careers and students may access them to learn more about the individual site visits by going to the Event ID in Eagle Careers. Students are required to RSVP for these events in Eagle Careers.

Spring Etiquette Dinner

Registration is now open for the Spring Etiquette Dinner (Event ID 2905 in Eagle Careers). Here are additional details:

- Free, three-course meal

- Networking opportunities with DFW employers and UNT alumni

- Professional etiquette information from Laurea Irving, the Director of Special Events, Certified Etiquette and Protocol Advisor for the President’s Office

- President Smatresk will be in attendance

Professional dress is required.

Students should bring at least 12 copies of their resume

Distinguished Speaker Series

Join us on March 24th, for the next College of Business Distinguished Speaker Series, featuring Chief Information Officer of Atmos Energy Corportation, Rich Gius.

The College of Business Distinguished Speaker Series provides students and faculty with an opportunity to interact with prominent executives and community leaders. Speakers share their views about successful management styles, possible career paths, critical industry-related issues, and qualities conducive to successful business leadership. These lectures seek to enhance the educational experience of students in the College of Business, while showcasing programs, faculty and students to the international business community.

Rich is a member of the American Gas Association's Technology Advisory Council, Southern Gas Association's IT Committee, Samsung's Executive Advisory Board and AT&T's Energy Advisory Council. He also sits on the advisory board of University of North Texas' College of Business' Information Technology & Decision Sciences and is a member of the University of Oklahoma's Center for Management Information Systems Studies (CMISS).
